Encounter Group
Rochester, NY
Every Thursday, 7pm - 8:30pm

If you are interested in joining/learning more about the group, please contact Igor for a screening interview.  The next group begins September 2023.

This group gathers people to support each other in overcoming hardships and developing a more fulfilling life. Through sharing experiences, participants offer encouragement and comfort to the other group members and receive the same in return.

These interpersonal interactions allow group members to deepen their self-awareness, learn how they relate to others, and receive multiple perspectives in a safe and confidential environment.

This group is for people who experience symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and interpersonal issues. This is an ongoing group in which new members can join or leave anytime.
Benefits of participating in an encounter group may include:
  • Feeling less lonely, isolated or judged

  • Reducing distress, depression, anxiety or fatigue

  • Talking openly and honestly about your feelings

  • Improving skills to cope with challenges

  • Gaining a sense of empowerment, control or hope

  • Getting practical feedback about treatment options

The maximum number of participants in each session is 8.
